LNF help!!

Not my car obviously, and he's not my friend either. I'm not the biggest fan of his actually.

BUT, a friend of a friend was doing burnouts in his girlfriend's new '08 cobalt ss turbo. Now it's stuck in limp mode or something and it won't go above 40% throttle. I told him to reset the ecu by unplugging the battery ovenight, he did and it didn't do anything except reset the radio. LOL. Sooo..... being the nice guy I am, and since he isn't a member on the forums, I decided to make a post and see if anyone can help him out. So anyone know what the hell to do?

I told him to take it to the dealer and pray they don't void his warranty. LOL.

This happened on my ss/sc and I was spinning tires, and it went to reduced power mode. So I changed my oil first thing, and my filter was collapsed, dont know that the two were related what so ever, but when I started it up after that, it worked fine again.

to completly reset the pcm you do need to unhook both terminals and touch the wires together for 15 seconds while the key is in the run position. that will completly drain the capacitors in the computers and they should forget their codes. if that doesnt work the codes are being stored in flash memory in the pcm and the only way to delete them is to have a scan tool / hpt / a good code reader.
