Losing SC coolant. not normal right?

I dont really know how long ive had this problem but i only recently noticed it. I took it to the dealer last week and they ran dye and could not find a leak. The paperwork said come back in a week so im schedule to go back this week some time.

The red line shows where I filled it to with dex cool on Monday of last week (11/10). I have driven about 150 miles for the week. So it has lost this much coolant in 150 miles.

Im also glad i saw somone else with this issue or i would have just been filling it up still, i figured it was an external leak. This is the thread. Though mandk1229's car was leaking worse it seems.

I also want to mention I bought this car used last year. And another note, the coolant looks like it has a slight green tint, its possible the last owner topped it up with green coolant? i dont know but it looks like it.

I was reading off of the page you posted about mandk1229's issues and it seems like it would be the Laminovas leak problem that a few people have had. When you go to the dealship tell them thats what your 80% sure it is.

I don't think the I/C system has anything to do with the head gasket......

I dont believe my pump is out. I took a small screwdriver down the neck and I clearly feel suction, so im sure its working. The screwdriver started pulling to the right side.

No smoke out the tailpipe except a little at startup but i think thats just some water vapor, goes away in seconds.

The car was not on when that picture was taken. I made sure to fill it up and check it only when car was off. Havent started it for today.

You know I told them about the laminova cores last time I went there but I suppose I was ignored. I will go back this week for sure just got to get time.

but if he has leaky laminovas he would be getting coolant in the cylinders, therefore burning coolant which leads to white smoke out of the exhaust

True but nothing to do with the head gasket. OP, you should see it flowing if it is working.

Yeah but if he lost only that little bit in about 150 miles I am sure not enough is getting in to create the smoke.

Umm if that is all the coolant goes up or down, it's possible that it is just caused by the heat expansion of the coolant in the IC system... Mine differs like that regularly, and I have zero problems. When it gets warmer mine appears to shrink. You could also have an air pocket in the system or something. This is especially possible if you have a secondary H/E. I'd say keep an eye on it for the next week then take it back to the dealer...

Mine went up/down regularly. I just chalked it up to heat expansion.
