Lots of Knock

Maybe Intense should change their webpage to reflect the change to:
Stock Intake : C1 Setting
AEM intake: E2 Setting
K&N Intake: 03 Setting

Good news & good work.
no but the 0, 3 setting for me was making my car sluggish, i was running WAY too rich. And that's almost as bad as running lean. It did take the knock away, but i was flooding the engine with gas. But i'm glad you worked yours out. Now I get my tune tomorrow.....I just hope my clutch can last me for a 200 mile long trip because it seems as if she's starting to go.
14,200 miles on my stock clutch with 2.8 inch pulley and exhaust. Pretty much, I had mods on the car ever since like 1,200 miles on the car so i'm surprised the clutch lasted this long.

Do you powershift a lot? or just normal wear and tear of more torque.?
Probably the reason I can get away with it more is my AEM intake is more of a replacement for the filter then a full pipe with repositioned MAF sensor location. Not creating too much of a difference...
Did you ever throw a CEL?
Right now at my settings the car runs like a champ. Time to go dyno it soon as well as release my next review

Let us know how much better your car runs with the tune!!
Never powershifted in my life, and probably won't ever. I did learn stick on this car though, dumped the clutch twice at 4000 rpm when it was brand new lol. The gas pedal is so sensitive compared to the 1996 toyota corolla I came from lol. However, I used to shift it aggressively a lot. Then I stopped at about 7000 miles and drove like a normal human being, I still do, I don't even shift aggressively anymore but the clutch keeps feeling weaker and weaker every day.
Yes, I had a cel when I put my intake on. It went off in like 2 days, but as soon as I got on the car, just going through one gear, the cel would pop up again.

dude, i know whats happening to your car. Your MAF tables are all F'ed up because of your intake. You need to get that car dyno-tunes asap before you blow it up... i was just at Intense and was seeing the same thing. If you put the stock airbox on, it should get a lot better.
Your MAF tables are all messed up, thus your not getting the right amount of fuel.
My car has a few more mods then you do, but i was running a 14.4:1 AFR on the dyno because the intake was messing everything up really bad... and keep in mind this was with Intense's Stage 3 PCM tune...
My car ran just fine, but lean as hell under WOT. Get on a dyno, or get a wideband and start tuning that thing.

I am the one that keeps mentioning the intake as the problem. I'l glad you got it running better. and the dyno-tune will also help. You can put the intake on before you hit the dyno, but be prepared to make several runs while adjusting the MAF tables.

I'm not putting it on before though, because I really don't think it's very good to drive with knock for 100 miles one way. I'm going to bring that down and possibly my zzp downpipe.
Good luck guy, keep us posted on how things turn out.

Sounds like a plan man. You can probably drive it down there w/ the intake, just dont go WOT... But thats entirely up to you. The Downpipe will help reduce knock... especially if you got one w/out the cat (like i have.)

05_blue and memphis, thanks guy's for leading me on the right track to eliminate knock.
My Intake was definitly making my car run leaner... I have experimented with setting base "D" 15% leaner and WOT (2) 4% richer and I get no knock. This is about has lean as I can tweak it before i run too lean. When I get my boost controller I will bring boost back up to 17-18PSI and and then use WOT "E" 10% leaner and maybe bring WOT (3) 6% richer and report back.
