Loud noises
Hey guys so I have been reading up on a problem that I am having with my car. When I go over bumps and or turn the wheel a weird way there is a loud clunking noise. Also when I am doing about 60+ and brake the steering wheel shakes (I have brand new rotors and pads). So my main question is could it be the control arm bushings? If so where can I get some good ones from. Also if anyone has experienced this before please give input! Thanks guys!
I have something similar and I've deduced that it's either the steering column or the intermediate shaft.
And since I'm 20k miles out of warranty I've decided against fixing it. As far as I can tell you can replace the parts and the problem will come back. Probably the junk parts GM produces in Mexico. -__-

More than likely the intermediate steering shaft. It is a problem in I'd say 99% of cobalts, but GM won't step up to foot the bill for a recall. I fought, tried winning my case, it is on its 3rd intermediate shaft, and needs it's 4th...car has 55k on it.
Something is obviously wrong with their design, and GM needs to fix their products and also back them up if they plan to keep loyal customers. They have proven useless to me, and I will never return to buy one of their vehicles.

i have clunking when i make right and left turns. thought it was my sway bars... replaced with moog... nope still clunking. im beginning to wonder if a strut bar would shut it up? im nearly used to it though. its been there forever hahhaa.
