My car won't be driven for 3 months

I'm getting surgery and I will be unable to drive for a long time, maybe even longer than 3 months. How often should I start my car and how long should I keep it on?

Thanks

Meh, I have a work van I drive 99% of the time, I start my car up at least twice a week and let it idle a good 5 mins at least before I go to work. Prob drive it 15 miles a week anymore haha.

Would you recommend a car cover. It'll be parked on the street in front of my house

I just had spine surgery on 12/6. I can't drive for another 2 weeks or so at least....

I parked my car at a friends that I trust and asked him to drive it at least once a week.

I think driving it is important, and better than just letting it run.

Take it or have someone take it around the block once and a while, being under a load is different then being at idle..

Plus i've heard just idling like that can cause condensation inside the motor but thats just hearsay yada yada so take that with a grain of salt

pump up the tires, throw some fuel stabilizer in the tank, run it for a little bit with the fuel stabilizer in, remove batttery, let it sit.

When I was deployed to Iraq for 3 months, I let my (then a 93 dodge shadow) sit in a parking lot. All I did was disconnect the battery. Came home, hooked up the battery, and it started right up and ran great for almost five years after that.

100% correct. u need to get it up to full temp, like drive it for a half hour or so.

5 mins. of idling will produce more water vapor than will get burned off, so if u dont have a half hour to spend, better to not start it at all.

Like people have said. Have someone drive it like once a week or so. Why risk it

pull battery (put on trickle charger), change oil, top fluids off, fill gas and park it. Do not start it. No need. that just gets condensation in the system. I put my tires on wood squares to keep them off the cement and fill them to 40psi. Idk why you guys start your cars, it makes no sense. GMPP engineer, bill, even recommended against it.
