so I came out of a restaurant last night and heard a horrible scraping noise and found this hanging from the underside of my car

what is it?! and how bad is it that it's missing? help!

i dont think so

but here do this, take the plastic engine cover off, then look behind the motor you should see the exhaust there and the cat along with the exhaust manifold. can you see evidence that thats where that shield came from ? broken bolts, bent exhaust, ETC ETC

 

Looks like the cat cover as already stated, wouldn't be too worried should just be part of the heat shield. I would look under the car at it though and make sure nothing else is damaged.

 

Thanks for all the help! I was super worried it was gonna be something really bad. I'll double check under the car and see if there's damage, and check to make sure it IS part of the cat.
