Need help

Hey I’m stripping car to build dirt track car need help with

stripping wires outta car for mini stock the ones I don’t need so I don’t cut wrong one and send car in to security

go to autozone.com, use the wiring diagrams for your car.

I understand that part I just wondered what the idea is behind stripping the wires out. Reduced risk of electrical problems?

Fixed.

Im sure the reason hes going for is weight. You can find all the wiring diagrams online or pay for them from a subscription like Alldata. That will tell you exactly what circuit goes where and each wire color/pin location.

Yeah wiring harnesses are surprisingly heavy. I would say maybe around 10-20lbs could be saved.

I'd be suprised to see that out of a base model if it is LS. Just not a lot of non-essential components. Maybe the body harness. Up front I can only think of headlights, horn, and wipers.
