Just leaving the store today my car started up and had a -1000 RPM on KOEO. When it was started the car idled at 0RPM then I drove it 30 ft, it idled at -500 RPM. No codes

I only have an air box mod and its a 2005 50,000 miles.

I searched for answers and one guy had a faulty crank sensor in a 2005. Could this be the same?

Also, as I think about it. Everytime I turn the car off the needles drop and shake around 0, like the battery is dying. It has always done this tho (It got a new battery this winter)

Any help?

 

your engine is spinning backwards. Refer to the aincent engine spinning in reverse when backing up thread

 

when the needles start flickering, they are recalibrating themselves. but they should go well below zero

The needles only "re-calibrate" when the car has been turned off.

At least that's the only time I have noticed my needles jumping around.

 

Do you by chance have a custom gauge face installed?
