So my neighbor's kid was backing out of his driveway the other morning and nails me right in the bumper. Where was he in such a rush to go? His driving test...







No dent that I can feel but definetly a pretty deep scratch. He offered to pay for the damages and I know he's the type that will do so, but what do you guys think that'd cost to patch up? Would I need a new bumper or just a paint job to fill in the scratches? Also, would this be hard for me to fix myself? I know I can handle some black paint and clearcoat, but I want my car to look the same way it did before it got hit.

Also I looked in my backseat and it appears that one of my friends who was riding in the back stepped in some gum and left me a present behind.



I pulled most of it off, but any advice for some dried up blue gum residue on my carpet?

 

AAAHH i hate gum on carpet...such a bitch to get out. I had a mystery stain in my Trans am back in the day....never did get it out.

i wouldnt mess w/ black unless you really know what ur doin, it is horribly difficult to color match and blend smoothly.... get a pro to paint it... as for the gum try icing it and just pickin at it...

 

oh no...poor bumper.....my rear bumper took quite a few hits too

and i dont think you should fix that urself. it appears that it only needs to be repainted

 

i would take it to a paint shop and have them repaint the rear bumper. that's the only way it will match up perfectly. good luck with it.

 

Thanks, its the first time I've uploaded any pics of my car as tiny and close up (and scratched) as they may be lol. I was planning on giving it a good wash/wax after I installed the exhaust and having a little photo shoot, but the day before the install is when this happened. As soon as its patched up I'll make good on those photos.

 

Damn you talk about bad luck that gum is insult to injury...i would send those pics to the DMV and a pissed off letter so he doesnt get his lic.

poor bumper. i wouldnt know price just go to acouple places get some quotes. and take them to the parents. you will get your bumper fixed. give the kid some slack i remember my roadtest day haha excited and nervous as hell.
