Noise when turning sharply at slow speeds

I started parking in a ramp, and if I drive with the window open, I hear a noise when I'm turning sharply at slow speed. It's not much of a squeek like brake noise, though I can't rule that out, it's just a sharp noise that lasts for about a second out of the turn. One spot it happens almost always is when I'm going down the circular corkscrew exit thing, at the bottom where it straightens out and the incline becomes flat, it'll make a noise there. Any clues?

Curb any of your rims badly recently?

kyledr,

I would recommend taking the vehicle into your local dealership to be diagnosed. They should be able to assist you further and have a plan for addressing the issue. If you have further questions, feel free to contact me by email. Thank you.

Tricia, Chevrolet Customer Service.

its your steering motor. Do you slam the wheel all the way to the left or right when turning and hit the bump stop?

CudaJoe, when this turning is happening at slow speeds, yes, the wheel is fully left or right. I don't know how to tell if it hits the bump stop.

Phyrric, I haven't rimmed the car badly that I know of. How could I check for this?

Do you think maybe the steering motor is the cause and the reason it's bad is the recall?

OK, now I listened more and I've determined, it'll make this noise in the ramp even when I'm not turning the wheel all the way to the left, in fact I would say it usually isn't turned all the way left or right. About after halfway through my turn it might make a screach noise. That's what I decided it most sounds like. Do you think it's related to the Cobalt recall?

Mine does the same thing. The wheel doesn't have to be turned all the way and mine only seems to do it when I turn right. I thought it may be the tire pressure but I checked it and its fine. My car is going to the dealer to be looked at soon for the CEL that comes and goes randomly so I'll have them check this out as well.

is it like a clicking almost? Maybe the springs aren't seated correctly and are moving when turning at slow speeds causing this sound. . .

Its not a clicking sound. More like a squeal from the tire rubbing on something but I haven't been able to find what exactly it is as there are no wear marks that I could see.
