Not enough boost?
Not enough boost?
So I metioned in another thread that I have been feeling some sputtering in 2nd and so I started to look at my boost and I am only getting 9 psi. I know some people said that stock you should be getting 10 psi and I remember in my 05 that I had I was getting 11psi. I am still stock cept the air box mod but I was wondering if 9 psi was normal.
are you talking about 9psi at the top of 3rd gear?
or mid RPMS in second.
these things dont instantly hit 12.5
most of the time when you punch it at low-mid RPMS, youll only see 9-10, then it will build from there

I am noticing the same thing in my SS/SC in the mid 2nd gear how it starts to stutter. I use to get 12-12.5 lbs of boost but now I never get above 10 and all I have is the CAI and TD. Any suggestions? I figured it was normal with the slightly warmer air ect. I am open for info as well.
I did a 20,30,40 mph roll in 2nd and not past 9 . And in 3rd, not past 9.
k. sry for askin what seems a silly question....
but youd be surprised how many people think you should get peak boost as soon as you tromp on it.
yah 9psi at the top of 3rd is low for sure.
do you have any way to read it from your ECM instead of through the stock gauge?
could just be the gauge messing up.

well the only way is to take to the shop at work and have one of my techs look at it. Which is what I plan on doing anyway. But I wanted to get some opinons on it 1st.
