Problems/Service/Maintenance Do you have problems with your new 2.0, 2.2, or 2.4L? What kind of service did you have done?

So like the subject says . I have oil in coolant however no coolant in my oil.

I thought head gasket. however a more knowledgeable mechanic then me says oil cooler. could this be?



next anyone have a oil cooler for sale?

Sounds like an oil cooler... I have an old Audi at work with the same issue.

Definitely the oil cooler, I've replaced them before on an LSJ for that exact issue. Cooling system was FULL of oil, super nasty and hard to flush it all out. Oil was clean as a whistle.

That's due to the high oil pressure, it leaks slowly only from the high pressure, into the coolant. Apparently there's not enough cooling system pressure to leak back the other way even after the motor is shut down.

It's not bad at all, I think there's only about 3 bolts holding it to the block right by the oil filter. You may have to move some stuff for access but it's pretty easy to reach. Will be messy when you remove it, oil and coolant everywhere .And you should flush the cooling system to remove the oil, I washed everything out with degreaser and a hose and kept flushing until it was coming out clear.
