Oily stain on supercharger, hissing sound, poor gas mileage
Hi everyone. As my username suggests, I’m new to these cars. I happen to have an ‘06 Redline.
a couple weeks ago I noticed a hissing-type sound coming from the engine bay. Not long after, poor gas mileage in the realm of ~20 mpg (estimated at half tank) versus my typical ~25 (300 to a tank).
I decided to pop the hood and I see an oily stain on the supercharger that I don’t remember seeing before. It appears dry. (I’ve attached a photo). I’ll do some more trial and error, but as of now it’s not a fuel leak that I can see.
Any help would be appreciated!

Is the hissing sound constant? If yes, have you tried to identify where the air is going/coming from? If the air pressure is blowing by something or sucking in somewhere you should be able to identify a source. Have you noticed a drop in boost when you get on the throttle while driving?

I’m hoping it’s just a gasket. And no, no drop in boost pressure (I have a factory boost gauge).
hissing sound is only under throttle and under load.
i haven’t been able to see where air is going in or out from wherever it may be. Also, runs strong as usual, it’s 100% stock, and I don’t believe the flex pipe is broken.
oh, I do have both ZZP trans mounts
