P0101 & P2178 = bad turbo??
P0101 & P2178 = bad turbo??
So I've only been able to hit 10psi with CEL cleared and 5 when CEL comes on. Figured I had a boost leak, still have extended warranty so I took it to the dealer.....
They figure based on code it's a MAF but of course it wasn't. I told them I figure its a boost leak so they decide to check that and tell me they can't find any leaks so it MUST be the turbo. They've ordered a new one and say it could take up to 2 weeks for all the parts to arrive.
Anyone here ever seen a bad turbo with these codes or is it likely still a boost leak they've missed?

Keep us posted to what you find out! I have one that is throwing a PO299,P2178,PO101. I am going to do a boost leak test this week. Mine is doing the exact same thing that yours is doing.

It's not a MAF. that's a common mistake. It'll throw a 101 MAF code when the ECU cannot make sense of the difference between what the MAF is telling it, and what the MAP is telling it.
Boost leak.
Boost leak.
Got the car back after the turbo was replaced and guess what, I got 6 miles from the dealer before the CEL came on again! p0299 this time they tell me. Must be a new problem since its a different code then before they try to tell me!! Except I noted their original invoice said it produced a p0299 after they tested it with a new MAF.
So back in it goes and what do you know, now it has multiple boost leaks and the fmic and upper ic pipe get replaced.
Still having problems so the cars going back in for a third time soon! You'd think they'd make sure it was 100% before giving it back to me the second time! I hate that I pick it up on my way to work and don't have time to check it out fully and dump it right back on them.

Mine was hitting 10psi untile the car heated up then I was only getting 5. I took my intercooler off last night and found two great big splits. I replace sensors also and that was a waste of money. I rewelded the plastic on the ic last night and going to test it in the morning before it goes back on the car. I would highly recommend that you do the leak test on it your self! Most dealers are a joke! The guys on here seem to know these cars inside and out!
