P0300 Code???
Warranty I would expect. Maybe if u can't afford the down time I would first of all reset the computer (disconnect battery for 10mins).
Then give it another try after the computer recalibrates itself.
If that doesn't work sparkplugs MIGHT help...but I doubt it.
The only think left would be to take it to the dealer and get it checked really.

I have the aeroforce interceptor scan gauge that reads and clears codes....Friggen it's not working now though...It lights up red but I don't even get a readout anymore. I have to send the gauge back.
Oh and by the way, I do have the NGK spark plugs. I forgot what model they are, they are the ones listed on South Florida Pulley Headquarters website that are recommended for putting a smaller pulley on the cobalt. I think they are gapped at .42 or .45
The thing is, I don't even know when I threw this code. I haven't had my cel on for a while every since my Maf Translator. When I went into the code readings on my aeroforce gauge, it said p0171 and p0300. I took care of the p0171 though with my maf translator but started freaking out about the p0300
took my car to the dealer with this code, bad spark plugs. they replaced my plugs for free. and i think they cleaned up the TB and some other stuff...car is running top notch now. just a heads up for anyone throwing the p0300 code.

Don't bother with that one, just get Intense to clear it off the PCM and forget about it. I have seen P0300 codes since the car was stock. But I have never felt it miss. You don't need a computer to tell you if your car is missing, you will know. Plugs didn't help me. This is one of those GM is paranoid codes.

The P0300 is NOT something anyone at a dealership is seeing at any frequency as a false or flaky DTC.
If you're not experiencing a misfire/secondary breakdown , or rough/unstable idle or other engine roughness- then something may be up with the CKP sensor or signal used to detect the misfire. Have it looked at by a dealer.

Yes get it checked. If it is the knock/misfire sensor it mgiht be set too sensitive. I remember back a year or so EVO's had a problem of stallgin when either a very hard sub slammed or a loud car revved their motor. Generally it was V-8 that caused this which was halarious, but Mitsu fixed it with a recal and it's all over now.

i had this code too. had a rocker arm self destruct in cylinder four. took the dealer a month to fix, but they covered it under warranty as it was not my fault. was just accellerating onto the highway in second gear when my car started sputtering. took it in and that's what they found out. i'd get it checked out if i were you. i was very lucky it didn't cause much damage.
Does anyone how and if I could get an extended warranty on my Cobalt. I have the PO300 code and well I've put new plugs, plug boots, cleaned the TB, and just got and O2 sensor in today. Only reason I got the senor was cause Autozone said I need that for the rear. Thanks
