P1682 Cobalt SS 2.4 2006

Anyone know what the code means? Hpt gives me 2 codes that are the same

p1682 Driver 5 line 2 (SES) (History) (Immature)
and
p1682 Driver 5 line 2

I looked at the DTC thread and that code says
P1682 Ignition 1 Switch Circuit 2 ECM, PCM

I'm also getting P0575 Cruise Control Related Malfunction

Wondering if that ^ is from putting in a aftermarket radio and having the buttons from my steering wheel not working. Well i know the volume ones aren't supposed to work or something but the cruise control doesn't work either which doesn't bother me much since i never use it anyways

it means the 2 reference voltages used by the pcm are not the same. I got this when I ran my IC pump off the ABS power wire as ZZP suggested. In short, you are drawing too much power off a circuit somewhere and the PCM sees it as the difference between the 2 references.

perfect thats exactly whats happening to my car then. I am running my IC pump off the ABS power wire just how it said in their instructions. Where did you switch it to?

Ran it off the spare key-on fuse in the underhood fuse box, there is another key-on spare in cab on the passenger side center console panel as well.

I has no sunroof. Would the wiper work? I know I tried the wiper with my boost gauge and it stayed on even when there wasnt a key in the ignition so i figured it would be the same here...also james told me that I need to run it off a 30+ amp thing or something like that so idk...ill try out wipers though and see if that works.

I get both these codes randomly from time to time. Never seems to affect anything but I have no idea what causes them.

even tho you dont have a sunroof the wiring in the fuse box should still be "hot" even tho there isnt a fuse in. get an appropriate fuse and give it a shot.

Ok i have 3 things wired to my engine fuse box. my afr gauge and boost gauge. both wired to uhhh fog lights and i put a larger fuse into it....might be a problem idk lol. I also have the ic pump wired to the reverse lights with the regular fuse in it. these are all addons so they dont have designated fuses. which should they be wired to? thanks for the help

i would replace that fog light fuse with its normal one and move either boost or afr to another source.
