Hey guys, Let me add the CV axle snap/pop problem to the list. Been to the dealer 6 or 7 times over this crap. But, to the point. I also have little spots of chipping paint on the wheels of my 06 STOCK 'balt(24,339 miles btw). The service dept. manager said"ohhhhh, I don't think they are covered...looks like the wheel was painted over chrome, or aluminum alloy. BULL.......****. That color C.O.M.E.S from the factory like that. (Told him that, but who knows what's going to happen). Hopefully they will find this popping noise that I drilled into his head this morning Forward, Reverse,Forward,Reverse .....click,click,pop,pop and so on. They better figure this stuff out, or they will be gettin' a call from GM. lol,that's funny.

 

go to the dealer again talk to the gm rep he will tell you everything you need to know. but yeah they have to fix the axles if its within the milage for warrenty. and i do beleive the wheels arent covered on the ss sc 05s 06s 07s with gun metal paint. not sure though.

I drove mine in a bad snow storm once and the cinders just destroyed my wheels. I just stopped over one day to see if they would cover them, I figured they would just blame it on normal wear and tear. They said they would replace all 4, free of charge. They swapped over my wheels and everything and I had brand new wheels. I couldn't of asked for more. He never asked if I drove in the snow, just if I used wheel acid. What they don't know won't hurt um.

 

damn yeah it depends i do know what delaer you go to if there in a good mood or not lol. and tell them you want the polished ones that way you wont have to deal with the paint chipping again unless you like them doesnt matter to me i like the polished ones. but yeah go ahead try it out.

They actually got the polished ones in by accident and said I could have those for free but I don't like the way they look on silver. I know they are 400 bucks more but still. I shoulda got them and just sold them and got aftermarket wheels.

 

I got My rims warrentied.... Brand new ones.. They have to replace them, ask for their service rep or maybe try another deal.. Yu can also call the Gm Customer Sat line..

 

ya my paint on my stock wheels has been chipped since like the second day

07 ss/sc 11,000 miles

 

Dealer said today guys, that he doesn't know what the popping noise is particularly....but he thinks that the tranny mount may have something to do with it, since it's located fairly close to the engine itself.

 

Hell if they are replacing some of your rims,try to get them to get you some G5 GT rims

all 4 new wheels no questions asked for me...had 14k miles on em. it was sweet!
