Angry Potholes

on my way home from work, feelin' good that my boss gave me a bonus, then BAM! I hit a pothole that was at least 6 inches deep.

I saw it completely but since it was a narrow bridge all i could do was hit the brakes and hope for the best.

Now i hear and feel something going on with either the axle or transmission. every revolution it sounds like its hitting something.

i checked all that i could without taking my drivetrain and suspension apart. If it is a broken axle, how the **** did i drive home another 5 miles.

Oh and one last thing, when i put the car up on jacks, i just put it in 1st gear to see if i could still hear it. Didnt hear it, but the left wheel wouldn't spin normally as the right wheel was.

maybe its the differential. idfk. any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Its a manual 06 Cobalt LT btw.

grab the axle and see if theres any movement in it, and if it is a "clanking or clunking" sound prob is an axle

Your wheels will spin at different speeds with it being jacked up.
