When i was 16 and was gettin my cobalt, they had me sign the papers take the car for a few days, and when i went back to get the other set of keys they said" o we lost them" so i leave go back when they had the "new" keys and they say o well we got your loan approved (with co-signer") So what they did was wat other people said, approved me on the spot get me in love with the car, try to get the loan approved. So they did with $435.35 a month threw gmac. really sucks to have a car for 3 weeks, show it off, fall in love with it and, well sir your loan wasnt approved give the car back.

I find that real crappy for a dealership to do.
I'm 19 also and when I went to buy my Balt SS Supercharged the salesman gave me a funny look and told me flat out at my age and I quote "minimum wage job" I could not afford the car. I told him to run me thru GMAC for the 0% finacing to confirm it. Two hours later I walked right out of the place hoped in my car turned XM 48 on and enjoyed my 2 hour drive home. The next day I enjoyed showing off my car to the Computer techs at the Office.
The moral of the story is Dealerships need to stop the games and thinking because of young age someone has no monetary assets to get credit. Or that Mom and Dad will bail them out to make the sale.

I had problems buying my cobalt. I'm 27 but look like jailbait. At Don Brown Chevy in St Louis, I told them I had already been approved by my credit union. I could hear the sales-slease telling someone else in the office "the kid says he has financing, but i think he's full of ****". They were shocked when I drove up to show them my new SS/SC I bought from the dealer down the street.
I don't get it, GM markets this platform towards younger drivers, but the dealerships treat the younger drivers like **** and discriminate.

Dealers very often shake your hand and give you the keys telling you that certain financing is locked up just to get you out the door with the new car. Then they tell you to come back in 2 days so that you can sign the final papers. During that time, they shop financing companies to give the dealership the biggest rip on the financing. NEVER get your financing through the dealership, unless it is a bonified 0% offer through their parent company. I get my financing straight before I even set foot on the lot.
These guys are scam artists for a living. An example that happened to me today:
I was getting my stage 2 installed today, and the guy asked if I had received a quote on the labor. I told him no, and he says that it has "been taking them" over 4 hours to install. I called his bluff and I'm paying for 2.5 hours. Then bullshitting with him no more than one minute later, he tells me that I'm the first one they have done!
