Pulley issue after alternator swap.

After replacing the alternator both the pulley from my water pump and the new alternator aren't spinning. The belt is pretty damn tight, took me forever to put back on. Also the new alternator spins by hand rather easily so I know it's not seized. Any ideas why this is happening?
