Which scan tool to buy?

I need a good scan tool for my car. It is a 2007 Pontiac G5 with the L61 2.2. I would have autozone do it, but I don't have one near me. Is there one in the $300 to $400 range? Thanks Mods please move if needed.

do you want to just scan codes or do you want one that gives you a description and little bit of live data information.

if your just looking for the codes, there are less expensive scanners that work just as well that can read and clear codes.

I want one that can scan and clear them. I have the list of codes from here and the Chilton book. Is there one that you recommend?

scan gauge 2 is what i have in my lnf, I have it attached below my rpd, it displays a/f ratio, litres of fuel burned per hour, how full my gas tank is in % and engine oil temperature. it can display many more parameters, those are just the four i have it set to display, plus it is a scan tool and has a backlight that you can set the color on, best option imo

if ur gonna mod the car, just get an interceptor, or HPT and learn how to tune. best way to go IMO, interceptors let you read anything the ECU spits out, and will read/delete CELs. jus sayin.
