Well my car has around 1100 miles on it and since I got it its been tricky about going into 5th. Well the dealership told me that it could just be that its new and need loosening up. If it doesn't stop bring it back and they'll adjust it. Well my question now is have any of you noticed that with the A/C off, windows up, and stereo off that you hear a fairly loud popping or clicking like noise when you shift the gears back and forth while moving slowly. Sitting still it doesn't make noise but when its rolling you can hear it. Is this normal or is their something messed up. Thanks

 

Yes they sound like **** lol.. they make some funky noises my ion did and the tc. i beat the hell out of the ion and never had a prob and the tc has 16,000 on it and still the same.

 

Slack in the gears when upshifting or downshifting is normal. I belive its especially loud in the TC because of the clearences in the transmission as well as the intermediate axle.

Don't worry about it. Also your issue with 5th.. it gets better as you accumulate miles. I used to have to try 2 or 3 times to shift into 5th. Now it goes in on the first attempt 95% of the time. I just crossed 4,000 miles.

You have the turbo ss right ? the 5th gear in this car is weird you can't push it all the way to the right and up it has to be to the left like 1/8" lol. I have drove a ton of standard cars and never been like that it took me a couple days to get used to it.
