Silver paint coming off on inside of door...

I know I have seen a few posts mentioning this. Started doing it like 3 months after I bought the car brand new. Does anyone have a quick easy way to fix it? Is it covered under warranty? Love the car, but the interior paint job is for ****.

if u r still in your 3 yr/36000 mile u should be able to get it fixed under warranty. I did. Once it started doing it again though.. well... I just said screw it and took care of the problem myself.

Blue matches well with my interior now.

autozone?

anyone know if it is a lacquer or enamel?

my guess is lacquer but i could be wrong. Then again, all i paint my replacements with are lacquers due to the tolerances.

I had both of mine replaced under warranty. I haven't put them on yet and they are sitting in my garage. If anyone wants my old set for paint experimentation after i swap them, let me know.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

Injen CAI on the way too! Hope I made the right choice. Read through enough posts to make me vomit.

Hope it's not too much of a pain in the **** to install. Touring Exhaust next.

Decided to start dropping some dime on the car, instead of the computer...which is a beast of a rig.

Yeah. I like the idea of taking it in under warranty, and getting them replaced. Then put on some type of clear coat to keep the paint from rubbing off...sheesh.

Also, for touring exhaust, is this a decent price? I assume this is a GM part.

time to paint it your color of choice. no sense in having it replaced because in 3 mths it'll do it all over again.

Yeah, I just don't have a clue about how to take that crap off the door to paint it.

that oval shaped part where you grab to pull the door shut, there is a little plastic piece in there that you can take out with a flat head, pop that out and there is a screw under it to take out. pull the whole thign out and on the underside just unclip the wiring harnesses and voila.

just the bezel thingy ma jiggy. the entire plastic bezel with the auto lock, auto window buttons. it pulls up out of the arm rest. disconnect the wiring harnesses carefully and then the buttons will pop out as well. then paint and reassemble.
