Problems/Service/Maintenance Do you have problems with your new 2.0, 2.2, or 2.4L? What kind of service did you have done?

So... I did a bad thing

So... I did a bad thing

I realise I did this and it was a completely STUPID thing to do. But... I pulled the PCM fuse out under power. Put it back in and the fan starts and the cooling/fan relay continuously clicks. Information screen says eng pwr reduced. I left it disconnected from the battery for a while after this. Went to try it again and it let me start it this time, but it was a really rough idle. The check engine light is on as well. Any ideas what I can do? I'm going to try and get codes pulled tomorrow.

Can't be that bad. What do you think happens when the fuse works exactly as intended and blows? There's power going through it then too.

I'm not as good with the electronics as the mechanical aspect, but take it to the dealership and just say you have no idea what's going on. If that doesn't work, replace the fuse yourself and see what happens. sounds like you may have fried the PCM somehow

A fuse is made to function properly when it's in place though. again I am not an expert on electronics, but if the PCM is still getting power without a fuse in place there is a problem.

I don't know about you but, I've never seen a blown fuse let current through, it would kinda defeat the purpose of it being there in the first place, lol

Blow the fuse, the power cuts off. No biggie. Put the fuse back in when the circuit is live, you can get a nice surge through whatever circuit is being connected.....this is not a good thing. Also, when you put a fuse back in, it rarely just goes straight in, so you end up with power / no power / power / no power / etc. Power cycle your pc or laptop real fast, see what happens

To the op - I agree with the previous posts. Take it to the dealer and play dumb...."I don't know, went to start it and all this **** started acting up."
