Question ss/sc 5th gear?

My '06 ss/sc with 1900 miles on it does not like to go into 5th gear sometimes. it doesn't grind it just locks it out. i move the shifter about and it still wont go in. only when i let the clutch out and push it back in will it let me hit 5th when this problem occurs. *yes i pushed the clutch all the way in the first time* This has happened at all sorts of different speeds and rpm. driving normally and getting on it.
I am hesitant to go to the dealership with this as it only happens once in a while. id say maybe once every other day.

also the clutch is very touchy. although this is probly normal for the ss/sc, it still bugs me so i must share my misery. with others. i still love the car though

The touchy clutch is normal and I will say 5th gear is always a bitch. You will have to break it in a bit more before it glides in. Your SS/SC is still a pilgrim. Let it flourish by shifting gears often. Mine was a pita but it worked out in the end.

Yes its my first clutch, but i have driven before on several occasions and worked on a few trannys, so i already knew the physics of how to drive it. just a matter of getting the feel for this particular car.
yes the car is still a n00b, but i have been quite harsh on it. i couldnt help but jump on it and rip some gears when i started driving it. i do know that there is supposed to be a break in period but i couldnt find any specifics on length of time or mileage so i have been beating on it since about 500 miles. tapped the rev limiter a few times, wow does 6500 rpm come quick probly not a great idea to find the rev cut this soon eh well, thats what warrenty's are for i guess.
