Starter wont stop cranking
this morning i started my car and my starter would not disengage for 10-15seconds .. the car starts right up, but then it sounds like im holding the key and making it crank when the car is already running. and i know cobalts have a safety feature to prevent you from cranking the starter over once the car is running. but my cobalt is doing the exact thing.... its like my starter gets stuck cranking for 10-15seconds after the car starts running. frozen solenoid? and suggestions or advice to help me with this issue? i just replaced the starter Feb of 2011. so the starter is only about 1.5yrs old. has anyone ever heard of a starter being stuck engaged before on a cobalt?
2006 LSJ supercharged
63k Miles. NO CELs
BYT tuned. full bolt-ons for M62
drives 100% fine other then this issue with the starter being stuck engaged out.

Either the ignition switch is sticking and continuing to send power to the starter or The pinion is not disengaging from the ring gear and the starter is being spun by the engine. Never heard about Balts having starter problems but have heard about ignition switch problems before.

Update:
So i pulled the starter out today, hooked it up to a car battery and it worked. bendix gear poped out then returned. but i noticed some corrosion on the the small terminal, and on the connectors. so i sanded everything down. used eletric grease when i installed it back onto the car. Started the SS up and what do ya know the bendix gear isnt grinding the flywheel anymore. im guessing corrosion on the starter terminals were causing the starter from turning off. Im glad i was able to figure it out. 2 dealerships wanted $426 for a starter motor. and autozone had a generic for $225. Thats when i decided to hook it up to a car battery and noticed its working fine haha
