Steering Rattle
Steering Rattle
How many of you get a rattle in the steering wheel or column?
i had the column replaced under warranty once so far and now its coming back again
anyone know what causes this?
im almost thinking it may be because of me during the winter...driving with wheels chock full of snow (shakes the hell out of the car)

I got the same problem, I had the column replaced also. It sounds like its coming from the pass. side wheel or something, I checked everything when I changed the oil but didn't find anything.
i had my first one at about the same never had the lower replaced maybe thats the rattle i hear over repetitive bumps in the gravel drive way? ive had both sway bar links changed and both lower control arm bushings
hate to sound like a dick but youre gonna have to deal with it. lol
one of the perks of buying a cavalier..err i meant cobalt.
dont get me wrong i love my car but i cant stand the rattles.

I've already had my column replaced once and the I-shaft once. Motors come separately from the column now. Recall should take care of it.
It has something to do with the gears/gear teeth wearing out I think. I haven't had one apart, but my co-worker explained it to me.
