They told me I overfilled my oil...
I had my 08 ss/tc in the dealership over the weekend to look for a suspension noise and while it was in there, i had them check out the oil leak i have. They told me i over filled my oil when i changed it.. Now i know i did not over fill it.. so what are some possibilties for the oil to leak out of the dipstick tube??? Thanks
That might be a leaking intake gasket which was popular with the SC but not sure with the TC if this is possible.
When the intake gasket leaked:
Boost pressure would leak into the crankcase and blow the dip stick and oil out of the tube.

What about a bad Positive Crankcase Ventelation Valve? Do we have them?
Your crank case breether tube could be cloggled as well. It goes from behind the engine
on the passangerside, to the intake.

So did you actually overfill the oil? Because if you had, the dipstick would show that it's overfull. It's a pretty easy thing to check and not subjective at all (and you should check it on a regular basis to ensure you don't have a gasket leak or burning oil).
I put 5 quarts in what the book says and the dealer.. there is no way it was overfilled. I rotated my tires as the oil was draining out. I had some a/c work done when i bought the car cuz it wasnt working after that the pcv was broken off for a bit until i noticed it was off. but that was well b4 i had noticed the oil leak. It has uv dye in it. I need to put it on a lift and investigate.
ya lsj = 6qt
lnf = 5qt
dont f that up :P
You can over fill if you put 5 in as not all the old oil drains out. do you check the level of the oil after an oil change on a flat surface?

This is why I pay the extra money and let the dealership do everything .. then they can't accuse me of anything and **** me out of the warranty I paid for.. A.K.A the price of a new car. When my warranty is done then I will tinker
yes i do. Like i said b4 i let all the oil drain out. i fill 4 qts. let the car down start it up and add the fifth till its full. My question was what other than the PCV could cause oil to be pushed out of the bottom of the dipstick tube.
