timing chain tensioner
Is the problem with the timing chain tensioner only on the the 06 and 07's the reason i'am asking i got an 05 ss/sc and get a loud rattling or almost like a knocking sound sometime when i come to a stop or when i pull down my driveway and stop at the bottom most of the time it goe's away if i rev it.
I don't understand why this guy had to replace his three times.
1- factory
2- 1st replacement
3- 2nd replacement
4- 3rd replacement
isn't the definition of insanity doing something over and over expecting different results?
what the F? Canada thing?

timing chain tensioner
Ok i just purchased the timing chain tensioner from crate engine depot .com. who has changed this and how difficult is it do u have to remove the valve cover or do u just unsrew the old tensioner and screw the new one in, just want to be sure berfore i get into this. thanks.......
From what I've read 05-07 all have this problem. The tensioner is very easy to change though, I haven't done mine yet but I will be very soon and you basically take the valve cover off, take the old one out, put the new one in and put the vc back on.

when i unscrew the old tensioner do i have to worry bout anything falling down in the motor? I read the how-to but think that was on the old tensioner. i bought the new revised one. Thanks guys.
