Problems/Service/Maintenance Do you have problems with your new 2.0, 2.2, or 2.4L? What kind of service did you have done?

Transmission issue...

This morning i got in my car to pull it in the garage and it was reving up reallly high before it was really moveing at all.... I'd hit the gas and the rpms would go up but it would hardly crawl... same in reverse and I / D all the gears were the same... is this just a cold tranny?? it's been sitting for acouple days in the snow... Or is this transmission dieing??

Have you checked the fluid level.. I am assuming this is auto?

yah its auto and no i cant find the dip stick for it... where is it?? my truck is auto and the tranny dip stick is in the back but i know that FWD is diff

You won't find a dipstick for the auto trans on a Cobalt - there isn't one......

Check out this link, should give you an idea of what you need to do to check the level.

Make sure it's warmed up first or you will end up over filling it.

so could fluid be the problem? and how exactly does it just loose fluid? It seems a bit hard to check with the car leveled... considering i haveto jack it up at some point

Might have a seal leak. Front pump seal, output shaft seal, leak between the halves of the case, ect.
