Transmission Leak???
Transmission Leak???
I have searched and searched all over the web and cannot find an answer to my question. I have been super busy lately and have not had the time to check myself. Just wondering if anyone here knows of an inspection plug, hole, plate, or something for me to check inside the clutch housing for fluid. I noticed the last time I did an oil change, oil on the bottom of my trans. Did not look like motor oil.... Had almost no smell to it. No clutch slippage or hard shifting at all. I currently have 130k on stock clutch. going strong with no issues, no wheel hop either, changed my mounts at 40k miles. anyone?
Looking for trans fluid or clutch fluid leak? There's an inspection hole in the front of the trans directly to the right of the engine oil filter. It has a plastic cover on it that you can pull off to see inside the bell housing to look for a clutch leak of some kind. If the actual trans fluid is what you're wanting to check, pull the driver front wheel off and there's 2 allen plugs in the side of the trans. Top is fill, bottom is drain. When you pull the top plug, the fluid should be level with the hole. As suggested, if you've never changed it, now would be a good time to do so.

Purchase the GM trans fluid. Mt-90 is not correct.
