trunk opening issue/panic alarm issue

Hey guys, don't post that often but read the posts alot, hope you could help me on this issue that arose a couple months ago. My trunk won't pop with the interior trunk button or the trunk release on the key fob. If i manually open the trunk with the key it opens just fine. Also, the panic alarm button does not induce the panic alarm on the car either. I was wondering what the issue might be and if there are any wire leads i should check out. I already checked the trunk fuse and it's fine. Just wondering if I'm missing something. I'd really rather not take it into the dealership, of course, because i'm guessing it's a quick fix or easy replacement. Thanks.

I don't have an answer for you. I have the exact same problem. I took mine to the dealer while it was still under warranty and I don't know what they did but it worked for a couple months. Just recently it stopped working again. I'm not sure where the problem lays with this either. Thought you may want to know you're not the only one with this issue.

Start at the basics...Test the Trunk pop motor..if that works then go the the module it self...Take a DVOM and test the output if any..And then check the fobs..GM is well knowin for the peice that hows the battery in to break off the circut board. I solder about 2-3 weekly at my shop

^^^ x2 on the fobs. They seem to be rather cheaply built (go figure) but easily fixed if you are handy with a soldering iron

the fob isn't the only issue if the trunk pop button on the interior isn't working

As far as interior trunk button not working, mine stopped working after I swapped trunk lids about a year ago. I checked the fuse which retains the button and it was fine, looked again like 3 months ago and it was blown, so I replaced it and now it works again, so I guess check the fuses to see if thats the issue. The fuse is in the box under the hood, dont remember what the name is for it though.

Did you check your fuses just to see if something that minor could be causing you the issue, as said, I had similar issue trunk not popping by button in car, was a fuse.

well i checked the trunk fuse twice to make sure i wasn't making a mistake but everything seems ok there....can anyone describe where the wiring for the trunk goes? or possibly if another fuse is linked to it
