Warranty void

I just recently purchased an 07 ss/sc and I want to start modding it but I am worried about voiding my warranty. This is a list of mods that I plan to do, could someone tell me if any of the mods will void my warranty and if there are any alternatives I should think about.

Stage 2
Custom cat-back exhaust
Hahn Header dp combo
Twm short shifter
Zzp heat exchanger
Injen CAI
Meth injection

Lol I guess I can't do much and stay in warranty, so how have you guys dealt with warranty issues?? I don't want to have to pay to fix something than is covered under warranty.

Find a good dealer that "overlooks" those things... but with the Government in control now I don't think thats going to happen to often!

Yep...what Scott A said..... If you don't want to pay for something you break due to operating the car out of GM spec ...........stick with GMPP or stay stock lol.

Keep your stock parts and when you get the tune, use a spare PCM.

If something breaks, slap the stock parts and pcm in and take it in.

exactly. its kind of a ******* move but as long as you are not going crazy with mods IMO GM should stiill give you a warrenty unless they can prove the the part made the whole car blow up.. theres actually a document for that.. its called the "magnusan moss act" (sp?). basically says the dealer can NOT take your warrenty unless they can prove that the aftermarket part was the main cause of the problem. its worked for me before. its pretty long so next time you take you car in for work just print it out and set it in the front seat so they can see it. most dealers know what its about.

If the motor blows and you throw a spare stock pcm in the car it's gunna stick out like a sore thumb. It will have no codes or history like the other modules .

Warranty or Mods. Pick one. I personally chose the latter...

Or you could go with the GM stage 2 and gain like 10 whp over stock...and pay a ridiculous price for it.

Unless its changed at all, you can clear everything by unhooking the battery for a bit.

nothing will void your warrenty as long as you have the stage 2 your are for the most part good unless the aftermarket parts caused something else to break. But as long as you have the stage 2 pulleya nd a GM tune you should be pretty straight.

Hit the nail on the head; but people will still swear up and down it works. I think for general warranty work, you can get away with it. Any major engine/powertrain failure where they'd expect a code to be thrown, they'll figure it out real quick .

This could work but anyone with an ounce of common sense is going to go "gee, now why you suppose there are no codes stored in the unit"...and I suspect that whole "last 30 seconds of driving data" is backed since it wouldn't do much good in a collision if the battery became unhooked if it was simply lost

I also found in GMVIS a place that records the stock ECM's serial number when the car is built . If i goes into the dealer with anything but the original ECM ......and they have half a brain to look up the SN#.....your screwed.
