ok i got codes p0121 and u0073.

i just unplugged the battery and reset them and they're not on and i drove the car around the block.

i was just cruising on the highway when all of a sudden it just popped up. the car was driving perfectly fine.

i have a Pontiac G5 GT which is now SC'd. i checked my MAF and the intake to make sure no holes were letting air out and saw nothing.

p0121 is throttle positioning sensor

u0073 is the modules aren't connecting properly.

 

really... nobody?

 

check your wiring/connections?

 

Ecm connector or the tps connector or the wiring for tps is cut or messed up some how.

 

i read about it being the tps as well somewhere. do you know where the tps is? i just recently got the recall taken care of at by pontiac dealer for the power steering pump.

ok thats what i thought and it was fine. i heard that it has to do with an aftermarket intake also.

but i have driven around my neighborhood and just drove to and from work and it has not come back on.

 

ok i really need help now. the CEL is back for the same thing but the U0073 code is now gone. only the P0121 code is on there for the TPS.

 

Replace ure throttle body or pedal senaor.. I kn its throwing parts a it but if u don't have the correct tools to diag and fix then u have to.....

u0073 is set due to a module trying to communicate onto the data line and not being able to output or send a transmission. find out which module is setting the code and whether it's on the low speed or high speed. sounds like a possible open data line wire somewhere depending..

 

I have the U0073 too... any one find a fix for it?

Confirmed. My cruise control has an effect on the code. 90 percent of the time when i use cruise, the U0073 code triggers. sometimes within 10 minutes, other times with in 2 hours. Ideas?
