Weird knocking noise

I hear a knocking noise everthime I start the car. The wierd thing is that when I press the clutch in it goes away completely. Do you think my cables are out of adjustment or something? I'm going to take it to the dealership probably tomorrow.

I hate the fact that, just as everything seems to be coming together with my car, something else falls apart. Has anyone else had this noise too?

that's a throwout bearing in your clutch pack... it's normal, especially if the clutch takes a beating.
I had one do it forever. It's not a big deal.

^^^Yup that's what it is. When they installed the new engine, they didn't put a new TOB in.

It's the TOB. I have this knocking noise when i start the car, then if I pop the clutch a little bit it knocks too. It's really annoying. I've taken it in before. They tightened all of my mounts motor, and tranny mounts. That seemed to solve the problem for two weeks. Now the god damn knock is back. Has anyone else experienced this problem that's not the TOB? My engine has never been replaced...

Did you have the dealership try tightening the motormounts. Thats what worked on my car before. I gotta schedule an appointment for mine tho.

I'll have to look into that. What do you mean actually though? The bolts to the block (bracket bolts), or the bolts to the chassis? I seriously think it's the Slave cylinder again because my old one looked like crap when I removed it. I will say the stock motormounts are way to damn soft for tthe car though.

Well if it goes away when u put the clutch in I have no clue but my SS makes a tapping/knocking noise sometimes on startup b/c of a sticky cam follower. Ask your dealer about that.

This noise is about ready to make me scream and blow up my damn car! Last night after the third clutch bleeding to resolve the problem, the car still squealed and won't go into gear during heavy load on the engine. **** this car. I want out now! I can't even trade the SOB in because of this damn noise!!!! Grrrr.......
