weird noise in 1st n 2nd gear

Need some suggestions. Does anybody know about a weird noise coming from i believe underneath the car. When i start off it sounds like your running over a piece of metal vibrating sound it only does it in first n second gear. what i think it might be is maybe my catalytic converter plate protector but im not sure what do you guys think? If it helps no cel's or any performance issue i get proper boost and shifts good ....

Both my SS/SC and TC have made a rattle noise when off throttle in 1st and 2nd ..... I can only hear it when Im driving next barriers or going threw an underpass. I'm not sure what causes it but I bought both cars new and they did it from day one.

I think that's normal. It might just be the way we operate our transmissions whether that's good or bad. lol I think it is the sound of the pressure plate hitting the flywheel.

if it sounds like a quiet cowbell, i just had my clutch done and while pulling the trans out we looked for this sound. we found a heat shield of some sort broke, im guessing it was from tourqe cause i started hearing it after a race.

Nope no cow bell sound here ..... the best way i can describe it is........ if you have a cordless drill with all the different settings for how far it will drive a screw...... turn it to the weakest setting and hold it .... it makes that kind of clicking sound but at a faster rate. The only time i hear it is when driving by a barrier or in a tunnel or underpass.

i'm hearing a similar noise, mostly 1st and 2nd, low RPM, and under load. almost sounds like a metal washer spinning freely... metal on metal noise/vibration. once i go higher into the RPM, it disappears.sound like it's coming form the passenger side front (by the belts)

btw, i have an 08 2.4L Sport

SOLVED my problem today....

there is a heat shield right under the downpipe (i have a 2.4L) that has 2 bolts, 1 on the trans, and 1 on the ????. not the trans bolt, but the "pivet" point bolt was loose and causing a rattle at low RPM. you can get to it from the top, reaching through the engine bay and tightening it with a 10 mm. (its hard to find because the bolt is under the fuel lines)

hope this helps some of you

I figured it was a headsheild when I heard mine doing it. My brother's F150 rattled the same way and it was an automatic and it was a heat shield on that too.
