What to gapp my pluggs

I just installed my new NGKR7e (one step colder) pluggs and gapped them at 0.035. I heard that maybe it would be better to gap them at like 0.040-0.042. My modds are GM S2, highflow manifold, GM catback, CAI and 2.8? Anyone can shed light on my situation??

With a bigger gap, what does that lead to? Higher engine temps? More chances for knock? Better or worst spark? What is more performant, and what has less knock for summer temps? Keep in mind I am frmo canada sea level, so it never gets that terribly warm. Compared it to a little colder N-Y state or equivalent to maine!

Search...

I searched for you, and got this one about 4 from the top.

But if you don't want to read the whole thread.

Safe for Stage 2 is .045. But you can run pretty much anywhere from .035-.045. Just run as much spark gap as you can without detonation or spark blow out.

The wider the gap, the more electricity you need to jump the gap. The colder it is, the more gap you can run, the warmer the smaller the gap.

Thanks grandpa. Yeah, I only knew where to go because I posted in the last 5 or so "spark plug gap" threads.
