Wideband issue

So going home today, my AEM wideband started reading extremely lean after I gave it some gas getting on the highway. I originally thought the car just started running extremely lean, however it also reads high (near 18) when the car is off. When the signal wire is unplugged it reads fine, however as soon as I plug it in it shoots up. I know it has to do with the signal wire to the sensor but don't have any clue. The connection to the sensor itself looks tight and clean. Anyone got any ideas.

Has the gauge/sensor been calibrated??

How old is the wideband sensor?

AEM says that it's calibrated when it's produced. I've had the sensor for 3 months. It's been in the car for about a month now. I'm pretty sure its wiring related as it'll jump down to a normal reading for a second before returning to 18.xx

Which "signal" wire are you referring to exactly? The white 0-5v wire?

The entire "bundle" of 6 wires or so seems to be the issue. The signal from the sensor itself to the gauge. I'm pulling it out in the next few days to put it in a doused rag to see if i can get it to switch to the rich side.

Ahh gotcha. It sounds like there could very well be a short in the sensor itself. Somewhere right around 5V is full lean, so you could very well have a short in the sensor sending a higher voltage back to the gauge.

so anyone else have any insight? I've gone through 3 sensors now. Kinda getting mad. Talking to AEM tomorrow or monday to hopefully figure it out. It reads full lean most of the time, then jumps back to an accurate measurement for a second, then back to full lean.
