This problem is caused by your EVAP purge valve....it has happened to many on here.

 

yea my LT. My LT was nice but idk why i put a high rise on it. but im glad i did cause now i got it for this car

 

 

sub'd..just threw a code and its saying something very similar P0496: EVAP Emissions high flow purge

 

ive thrown a cade a few times and not known what it was but when i fill up with gas it goes away? wonder if mines starting to go?

 

i had the same issue.. told ya before.. purge solenoid.... you have to go OLD SCHOOL and pump the gas while yer crankin for it to start..... ym car cranks on and doesnt like the cold so itll turn off.. gotta replace that purge solenoid

 

at the dealer right now for the few different codes its throwing, this included. seems like a rather simple fix once you track the location of the solenoid down

 

the solenoid is right by the intake manifold.. its a $28 opiece... ive had 4 within 10K miles... lol so plenty of experience
