As of 2006 we are no longer offering headers made by Hotshot. We have gone to a new manufacturer and hope to have a production run in for inspection very soon. Now we are receiving raw, uncoated headers and doing the finish work in house before being sent off to ceramic coating. After that we’ll inspect them again and send them direct from us to the customer. By taking these steps to make sure that every header is built and finished to our expectations we will be able to offer a quality product comparable to the quality of our design.
We have made a few changes to the assembly of our design based on feedback from the community making installation of the header easier and a sleeker overall look. We will continue to listen to our customers and improve our product with the goal of always having the best product for the price in the industry.

For those people who are still waiting for an opportunity to exchange your header this will happen as soon as I’m satisfied with the quality of the work from this new manufacturer. I’m working very hard to have every outstanding order resolved by the end of this month.

For those people who were involved in the TOG debacle I’m taking the initiative to change the design of my gasket to accommodate that header also. I hope that by making a gasket available to seal the header to the head that at least some use will come out of that product. AND since there is no way for owners of the TOG product to exchange it for a properly working one I’m going to extend the SCdyne 50% upgrade to all the TOG customers through July of 2006.

yea theres a lot of drama going down over there on the redline forums in regards to SCDYNE headers or whatever. IM kinda pissed we only have TOG and SCDYNE to go to for headers, since I've heard issues with both companies. I would definately read the posts over there prior to doing anything header wise.

 

I would love to buy a header for my car but until I feel confident with the company I'm dealing with I'll wait.

There isn't only SCDyne and TOG...a company made a header for my buddy's 04 Ion Redline, if anyone wants their info, shoot me a PM because I don't think they're a vendor here yet

 

C'mon guys I have SMS full length headers on both of my RL's and they are awsome fit, came with ALL the parts plus a upgraded motor mount. SMS is willing to make them for the ss also they just need a car to fit a down pipe since the header is the same.

 

We also have the GM Extrude Honed Exhaust Manifold... Not that it may out perform any others but it is a GM Product and a definate fit and supposedly 30 CFM more and it's about $290.00

 

For those of you who aren't familiar with SCDyne, he's really good at screwing people over. He's been doing it to the Saturn community for years. I'm pretty sure there's people on the Redline forums that still haven't gotten their replacement headers, and I don't think anyone's gotten the gasket that he promised he'd send out like 4 or 5 months ago. Don't believe me? Go to any Saturn forum and mention his name and watch how many people say the same thing. Adam, I'm quite surprised you haven't gone the way of XRC and Twistec. Although, I do give you credit, you've got more ***** than TOG. You're at least still here to try and answer for your half-assed products.

 

I will just say this.....

All these redline forums guys RANTED, RAVED, BITCHED, MOANED, CRIED, and COMPLAINED about Adam Chant and SCDyne. They said he ripped everyone off, hes a liar, he doesnt return phone calls. So finally the owner/admin of redline forums banned SCDyne/Adam Chant from their forums. He then asked people to come forward with there problems so they could pursue some kind of legal action. When the dust settled...... ONE... at last I heard.... ONE SINGLE PERSON... came forward with a REAL LEGIT complaint....
So basically as far as I can tell.... 1 or 2 people had problems.... They bitched and moaned so loud that it made it APPEAR as though it was a giant problem... Which it wasnt.

Now I dont personally know Adam... I dont have an SCDyne header... BUT I kind of wish I would of bought one considering the TOG situation...
Remember this as well.... These guys coming over here from redline forums were the same guys saying "TOG is gonna be great" ... "Dont buy SCDyne they suck... Buy TOG" ... Etc etc etc BULLSHIT !!

SCDyne is here. Adam is here. His product is reasonably priced. He is offering to help out members of the community that have been ripped off by TOG.

 

word...he has alot to do as far as cleaning his name and image before i would ever buy or reccomend that someone buy from him. i personally am gonna wait until a REAL reputable company comes along before i buy a header, or just get the GMPP one..

Leaving Hotshot is the BEST thing for SCDyne.

Hotshot is the reason for all the crappy headers of the past from SCDyne and TOG and with a good builder the SC Dyne product should greatly improve.

Offering a 50% off upgrade to the TOG customers also seems like a very generous offering.

it wasnt just the headers it was the person selling the headers that was a major issue too.

 

TOG is a real company. They are the best header available for the WBody. This is just a bad time for TOG as a key person left. Its a little bumpy now (like it is from time to time in all companies) but it will get smoothed over. Just give it a little time.

 

Yeah.... I know they ripped off 40+ people on a piece of crap product. But theyre in hard times right now... Theyll make it up to all of you soon enough... NOT.

 

They've already pissed a lot of people off and guarenteed those people are not going to be customers of theirs again

 

Say what you want about me, but I'm still here with an address, phone number and website, addressing every issue as quickly as I can.
I have literally refunded the majority of the headers from the pre-sale and I’m working with this new manufacturer to take care of the existing issues as quickly as I can.

I think I have made it clear that outside of replacement of my headers it’s almost impossible to get them to stop leaking at the exhaust flange. Hotshot just can’t seem to make a product of the quality and in a time frame that meets anyone’s expectations. I could keep sending out what they give me and the result would continue to be the same. People would complain and request a refund. Ultimately what everyone wants is a header and one that is both affordable and of a respectable quality.

I’m not going to get into a bash Hotshot contest because I know that the owners mean the best, but the staff doesn’t provide the quality of product we expect. Now I could keep hammering out the product they offer and live with an almost 75% return ratio or look elsewhere and at least meet the promises I made. It may take a few more paychecks to get all the people satisfied, but until then I’m not selling any new products and have even taken on the task of trying to help the people scammed by what was TOG.

 

I'm also not going to totally expose TOG, but I can say with 100% confidence that what is or was TOG has no means or intention of resolving the issue with the header. If they did then it would have happened when it was presented to them that there were issues with the flange design before production started in October.
