I went to school at Wyotech. There way of teaching us was giving us a buffer and just doing it. I've done it once more since school, bringing my total times buffing cars to twice, and both came out with show room quality. Just do it. You're not going to fly through the clear if you keep moving.

I can't stress it enough, keep moving. Use a lower speed to if you're just starting out.

Well I bought a porter cable and my moms gonna let me practice on her car

I bought the Porter Cable 7424. I was just gonna buy the pads from turbowax, their shampoo, swirl remover and wax. Anything else I should need? Im wicked excited haha

 

well you want the 5.5" back plate so that its harder to make backplate contact....

also you are gonna want 2 orange, 2 white, a grey, and a blue....

if this setup doesnt yield results pm and ill help you out with some advice on some more aggressive stuff

nah the backplate is velcro stuff and the pads have velcro on the back and it is what you need to use other company's pads on the PC....

try swirl and white is what i would start with and if it doesnt yield desired results then use swirl and orange...if that doesnt work then ill tell you what to get then

if not they have an awesome starter kit that is perfect for you for 200 it comes with a bunch of pads and backing plate and other tidbits you need....

if not im sure they have a add-on pad kit

i actually opened a thread about a scratch area i have on my rear bumper and am gonna post a pic tommorrow so hopefully someone can help me out. its like a 3 x 3 area of light scratches that wax and rubbing compound dont seem to help with. its real dull looking like sumone took a brilo pad to it.

 

honestly man that was you using cut compound by hand.....

your hand just cant do it efficiently
