Classifieds Idea

So I was going through one of my photography sites and they just put this into act...

In attempt to avoid blatant scam attempts and have some post history on those who place ads, and to make the Sell and Buy forums a service for our loyal member and not just a passer-by:

From now on you will need to be member of (SITE NAME) in order to start new threads in buy or sell forums. This means you need 30 days and 30 posts before you can place your ad. Junior Members (0-29 posts) can of course reply to posts as usual.

PLEASE NOTE THAT WHEN YOU REACH 30 POSTS AND 30 DAYS PERMISSIONS UPDATE WILL TAKE COUPLE OF HOURS.

What does everyone else think...?

not a bad idea

but you have to realize that some people join just to sell their cars
so 30 bs posts would follow

yeah but this way they would have to at least be a member prior to posting in the for sale forums.... thus they cant sell their car right away...

bump for more opinions...

thinking about it more

15 days/30-50 posts before you can start threads wouldn't be a bad idea

Just use your brain when buying from someone online, I could knock out 30 posts in 20min and still scam you...

We have seen a bunch of people scammed by someone that has 1000+ posts and been a member for over a year. Scum bags are scum bags, no matter what "rules" you set in place.

you make a good point ryan, I just thought this might prevent the members joining just to post their for sale items alone... but yeah

I'd rather have a couple people join just to sell there parts, then to have them spam the forum with 30 posts just so they can post there FS thread.

You have to have 150 posts to even look at the for sell section on one of the forums I'm on. How about a rating system towards sellers on the forum.

We have that already, sort of... but it's only as good as the people that contribute reviews
