New idea for css.net

if you are under 50 posts and you go to start a thread, There should be a popup that says try the search button first!!!

on other forums theres a rule i like, you must have 50 succesful posts before you have access to creating a thread in the Classified's section

yep

The problem is, you will have people who sign up just to sell parts. They will troll around for 50 posts, jacking threads, "hey sorry for the threadjack, but I'm trying to sell my parts" and other related shenanigans

what if they actually have a good question?

I agree if someone wants to sell something they should have a couple, maybe 10 posts at least.

I don't remember which forums it was...but when you went to create a thread...it actually did a search and found threads that were similar and you could either continue on and create a new thread or just bump an old one with the same OP topic. It seems like it would be pretty easily implemented because the site already has the search feature...because seriously the number of downpipe threads or stage 1 threads is getting out of hand...there's usually 2 or 3 downpipe thread on the FIRST PAGE ALONE in the LNF section all asking "What's the best DP? Will it throw codes?" God damnit that question has been answered 400 times in the past 24 hours!!!!

This will never happen. Good ideas are not implemented here.

Then they can use the search button and bump an old thread with a similar topic like they are supposed to.

What if they have a pop-up blocker?

Anyways it's not a bad idea. I just don't see it happening.

Then that little ActiveX thing SHOULD pop up below their browser bar and say "there was a pop-up blocked. Do you want to temporarily allow this pop-up yes or no?" They would then allow them of course.
