New guy
New guy
Hi all,
I made a killer deal on a new 2008 Cobalt SS today. I've been raised y a Chevy guy, but love cars in general, and especially anything that is performance oriented. My last SS was a 2002 Camaro, and I traded that for a 2004 CTS-V, but the former job dried up and I adopted my wife's 2006 Solstice so she could commute in a Focus.
The Solstice (which looked great, but that was about it) was traded today for an '08 with the sunroof, diff, and 6-disc changer.
I've only driven it home so far but I am VERY confident that (front-wheel-drive notwithstanding) I am going to be VERY pleased with the performance of this car until I trade it in for a Corvette or 2012 CTS-V Coupe.
Let me know if there are any break-in tips/tricks, easy (cheap) mods, or meets that I should know.
Glad to join the crowd!

I traded the '06 Solstice for the '08 SS.
What do these babies lay down stock rwhp? And what tune from where would I get to get to the #'s you reference?
I am pleased with it as-is for now...but probably only for now.
I need to do the search for progressive mods steps that bring the best bang for the bucks as I get more bucks in to do them. With the Camaro & V, it was always best to get the air intake/exhaust/easy bolt on stuff 1st and then get the tune.
Is that how it works for these too? This is my first ever turbo, so I have lots of learning to do.
Thanks for the welcome!

stock is 260hp and 260lbs/tq. my suggestion is to look into hanh racing. good stuff they make! or turbotech racing as well. as for break in never get on it for the first 500 miles/dont hit the brakes hard as well. drive her like a baby for the first hundred miles. also since its a turbo if after u run it hard dont just turn it off. could cause some damage later on and u dont want that. let her cool down for a good min or so. or if you want get a turbo timer. this is as far as what i know to help you. others will know alot more then me lol
