just go ahead and accept that all related braking problems and/or wheel problems will come from the rear driver wheel...

my wheel started doing exactly what you were talking about at 4500 miles... they replaced my brake pads all around... couple of thousand miles later it returned... the discovered it was the caliper sticking and fixed it... that solved it... at 35k the rotors and pads were toast, I put on the R1 rotors and Hawk pads... 4 weeks later, one of the wheels starts making a noise... any guesses on which one it was?

I broke the wheel down and reapplied some brake grease and let it ride again... so far so good... and yea I greased the pads before installing the 1st time... it did fine on 3 out of 4 wheels, the driver's side rear wheel is just cursed on these cars

on a side note I found my wheels on a site for $492 + shipping, that is cheap as ****... now if I can just find a work car so I know how much money I have to dump into the Cobalt...

on the lookout for any DOMESTIC 4-cylinder for less than $4000(or there about)... want something with around 75k on it, found a HELL of a buy on a '02 Cavalier but it was gone the day I went back to further inquire about it, it only had 77k on it...

i'm not buying the wheels until I can get the Depo headlights, which means I need $750 of free cash to be able to drop on the car, I have enough to buy a car and spend that in the bank, but i'm kind of skeptical in dropping that money for car parts until I get a work car, which is the #1 priority right now

and I would do a V6 as long as it gets mid/high 20s in gas mileage(though I'd prefer something in the 30s)... I don't give a **** what it looks like, it will be used for point a to point b driving, just to keep miles off the Cobalt

can't do a Nissan or Honda, it'd be flipped in the parking lot of my Hall, lol... won't do a Toyota... so Ford or GM it is(don't like Mopar)... i'd prefer it to be General Motors and i'd love to find a LS Cobalt(4-door), needs to be 4-door

the V6 Malibus from like 04-05 are cheap and can be found pretty low mileage, but they don't hold up well, I know a couple of guys who have bought them for work cars and had nothing but problems out of them

Find you a Saturn Ion QC man, what I previously owned.
Mine had a ground effects package and rims from the factory., 5 spd.
It got 35/30 mpg the whole time I owned it and up till the day I traded it in. 2.2 ecotec motor and easy as heck to work on since there is so much room in the motor bay.
Although I never had any problems but the crappy GM front rotors.

Not entirely sure, but I think that might be a guy I go to school with. I've seen a silver Cobalt SS just like that and I know it's one of the older ones (05-06) because of the headlights. But his has the Recaro seats (G85 package). I'm not going to lie, but the first time I saw him in the parking lot, I wanted to go up to him and ask him if I could buy his car regardless of already having the SS/TC. However, my fiancée wasn't too happy with that idea

As far as the driver's side rear wheel, I guess I'll take it in to Chevy and have them look at it. I could go for an oil change. $10 says they'll say the damage was from having the rims warped/dented though and won't warranty it

Hmm... trade in the 10 SS/TC for an 09 SS/TC... loaded with LSD and RPD? I could swap the rims. No one would ever know

its an option for all SS cobalts, part of the G85 package... when I bought my car I told them 4 things:

1. no high rise spoiler
2. G85 car
3. Not Yellow
4. I'd like to have it by Saturday... and technically it DID arrive Saturday, but was that night and the offices had already closed, not open on Sunday so I had to wait until Monday morning, that kind of pissed me off, lol

Call it an impulse buy. The dealership had 2 Cobalt SS/TC. One in black, the other is 08inBama's color. I told the guy I'll take that one without even thinking about the LSD option

I'd like to drive one with LSD and see if I'd really make use of it. I mean, I do have a heavy foot sometimes, but I don't autox or anything.

you won't need it going straight, in fact the fastest stock LNF through the 1/4.... not a LSD car... i've argued that for years and it started back when I owned my GTP back then you had guys running mid-11s on the stock differential and guys were thinking about dropping $1500 for a LSD on their high 13 second cars, lol

limited slip is used in turns, its keeps a fwd car from hopping through a curve and into the grass, lol... basically when the inside wheel starts to spin it allows the outside wheel to "catch up" to it...

now with some older cars that is not the case and you'll get the pirate leg burnout without a LSD, but on these newer cars like the SS Cobalt, a LSD is pretty much for the curves

I've seen some discussion on this before, but not quite sure what to make of it. So, does LSD actually help torque steer or does it not affect it all. Logically, one would think it would help torque steer. Technically, well, I don't know. I'm more of an electronics guy than a car guy, but I'm trying to even them out now

our uneven axles is why our torque steers is almost non-existent... the big advantage these cars have over the LSJ Cobalts, with A LOT more low end torque on a tuned LNF we have less torque steer than a bone stock LSJ, and that is the truth

also its a little early but July 16-17th Import Alliance is coming to Nashville... its usually a pretty big car meet, i'll probably go, too bad the Redline Time Attack won't be doing an event with them this year, they must of had a falling out because they aren't having ANY dates together this year

and it was a huge success last year even with the ailing economy, they probably argued over profits

So, LSD affect torque steer on the SS/TC.

And I'm taking summer classes this semester while working 30 hours, so I have no idea if I'll have time. I'm trying to graduate this December before I get married and buy a house next spring/summer

it might help a little but its not the major player... LSJs had a limited slip on some of them well, still had torque steer from hell

I tried calling Trackmasters today and couldn't get through I'm planning on trying to get to the dyno Friday.......if they'll answer their phone....

I-22 Motorsports park is having a race this Saturday, Pro Mods, Pro Street, etc.... I might go check it out, they usually have some good racing, even though its 1/8th mile... its a VERY nice facility, by far the best track in the state, Steel and Montgomery included... too bad its not 1/4 mile

honestly Steel is a terrible track, its just 1/4 mile so everyone wants to run there

and the laugh of the day, read the whole thread, its worth it:

Thinks that make you go hmmmm.

I've got your Dejon catless DP on my HHR SS, Vince said I picked up 1 lb/min flow at WOT over my hi flow spun metal cat.
So other then a very slightly faster spool up, no real benefit of having it over a spun metal cat unless you just like the sound or can't afford the spun metal variety.
