Alabama
if you guys go again this Friday... let me know... we ended up going to the River at the last minute this Friday but with a weeks worth of planning, i'd definitely be down
so far my only races in the SS have been a '04 Mach 1(slightly modded, exhaust I know for sure)... beat him pretty damn terribly, lol
a Pontiac G8 GT who I raced with the Cobalt, but before he had headers... when I ran him in the balt, he just had a cai, catback, and a tune... now he has headers and a new tune... from 40, we were nose to nose to we let about about 110 or so... though I expected to lose that one actually... from a dig I put it on him pretty good
even he told me this car is going to be freakin fast once I started modding it... and the other guy in the 2-Valve GT uttered to the crowd "we all remember his Cobalt"
lol
this car doesn't even think about spinning out the hole, not even on the asphalt and its not because of lack of power, lol

I saw a new Mustang Boss 302 on a trailer today, white with black rims, black strips, blacked out headlights.
Thing looked pretty damn sweet.
But damn if the price of cars aren't getting out of countrol, damn inflation.

^ welcome to why I bought when I did... when the economy gets bad, a couple things happen:
1.) used car prices go out the roof
2.) banks stop wanting to lend money(though I have perfect credit, they simply some times WON'T lend you the money)
3.) Inflation

well, I was gathering my things up about to head about, but being its a 1:45 minute drive was going to try to get someone to make the trip with me(hate driving that far by myself)... called up my friend and he said he was about to call me they were loading the boat up.... plans changed, lol
i'd definitely be down to go sometime, just need a notice... and do they still run on Sundays? that's be much easier on me, I usually don't get home to 5-6:00 and by the time I get a shower and a bite to eat, its already 7:00-7:30... make the two hour drive to steel, get there at 9:15ish... race for a couple of hours and then drive a couple hours back home.... not exactly cool when you are coming off a week of work, lol

I just did sent an email to a good friend of mine in Pelham who I have talked to this about in the past... basically i'll tell you guys, what I told him... I have a good friend who in the past has told me he'd help me get something like this up and running, and as long as the cost are reasonable, i'll be willing to foot the bill... however, I don't know a whole lot about running a website, another friend told me he'd give me a "crash course" on it and of course, i'm going to make him an admin to help me whenever but still, its not something you just learn overnight... if any of you do know anything about this kind of thing, i'm taking volunteers... of course everyone here is welcome, don't even have to be from Alabama... and even though its going to be BamaClubGM, hell, i'll let guys in who drive other makes... with the warning of:
"your probably going to see the ADMIN talk **** about other makes, don't like it, find the red x at the top of the screen"
so I have one person who I KNOW can design a website and one person who was heavily involved in the old Grand Prix website we used to have... but i'm looking for anyone with interest in this
its like I told David, in the fact that HSVracing is as big of a joke as it is, the people of Alabama need a car site that isn't just the constant bashing of everyone who isn't in a RWD V8 or a Toyota Supra... and while a site dedicated to all makes is probably needed, i'm a GM guy at heart... its what I do... I'd rather go to meets representing GM enthusiast, than car enthusiast... that is just me... it won't be a site for everyone, i'm not trying to make a site for everyone... and while I won't be strict on people expressing their opinions, the constant belittling of other members(except me calling Scottie and Josh Homos) won't be tolerated, lol... but seriously, there is a difference between light hearted comments and the **** that goes on over on HSV
I think if this is done right, it can be a huge success... I mean when I sit back and look at all the meets that go on statewide, and i'm talking different car shows... there are many chapters of car clubs who show up... you have the Vets with Vettes, Rocket City Camaro, etc.. I know of about 4 "groups" that meet regularly every weekend in the quad cities here... but the one thing they all are, is usually limited to one model, and while that does help you meet people interested in your car, you are always going to be limited on membership... basically, my goal for this is to be a club moreso than a forum... we all like to have track days, have meets, etc... why not try to expand these meets out to 50 people instead of 5-10... you'd be surprised at the number of people who are looking for a home when it comes to attending meets, etc... my brother is still trying to find a group of firebird owners who are active in things like this, the closest one seems to be North Tennessee...

Let me know if you guys are going to go to steele this weekend, I might try to ride up. It is so damn boring here in Meridian no car scene just friends who hang out. I joined a local state forum where people actually talk about getting together and doing some stuff but all the good stuff happens down on the coast and that is a 3 hour drive for me sigh. Just bored on the weekends lol.
I don't mind coming and putting the smack down on Josh's SS/TC :P.

screw that... I be damned if i'd let someone run my car if they weren't running their own... and his car isn't even that fast... Justin's LSJ is faster... I know, I ran both of them
has Justin been to the track? his car pulled pretty damn good that day we all went to the Spec Meet
and i'm a no go this week as well... got a little something, something lined up Friday, lol... really the next few weeks probably won't be good, maybe 2 weeks from Friday
I know the next Friday we're starting an outage that Saturday morning(which sucks, Bama's 1st game) but I should be off work by the time they put the ball in the air(or hoping at least)
I could possibly do two weeks from Friday, will let you guys know for sure the closer we get... and if I f*ck things up between now and Friday, I may be down to go anyway, lol
like I said if you guys decide to do a Sunday let me know, I'm just about always free on them
