Camaro5 has already paid off.... I found out that if these cars have EVER had 87 ran through them, they'll go into a permanent "limp" mode... and the only way to get them out of it is to pull fuse 5 and 20 for several hours or hook the car up to a tech-II... so I did this last night being as how I don't know the history of my car... and the problem was corrected with the 2011 ECMs...
the results?
faster than before:
2010 Camaro SS L99 0-90ish - YouTube
and in the slower, but more fun to drive, Sport mode with tap shift:

No it doesn't... Ill gladly make the compromise

So I was sitting here looking up different exhaust sytems, etc. And I got to CAIs, have decided that with modern air boxes being as efficient as they are, you are just as well off just going with a k&n drop in. Guess what, the same one I have in my stock air box from my cobalt fits the Camaro. So a freebie
As far as exhaust have decided on a magnaflow x-pipe, magnaflow 14156 mufflers with a resonator delete. The x-pipe is where the gains are in the catback anyway
Its going to sound beastly

Yeah, you don't buy a Camaro SS for gas thats for sure, but man the gas mileage they get compared to the past is very reasonable with the power they put out.
On my list of agendas today, pulling the O2 housing/cat on my Regal.

So now not only do I have custom upper and lower intercooler pipes;
I now have a free flowing 02 housing in place of the factory 02/catalytic converter pipe. Did this today.
Before the tree huggers come in here, blah blah blah, I still have 1 Catalytic convertor on the car.
Who in there right mind would stick a CAT right into the O2 housing right off a turbo is beyond me. Want to talk about back pressure (which a turbo doesn't need).
They literally took a CAT welded on 2 ends, one to connect to the turbo and the other the downpipe.
I used a 02 defouler (Vince can turn off the rear 02 with tuning but I couldn't get ahold of him today yet) and so far no codes, the turbo spools up quicker now (its probably saying "I can breath").
I'm going to run a log and send it to Vince for tuning adjustments.
I need to get to a good dyno and see what I'm putting down now, 300whp is my goal.
An aftermarket catless dp on the HHR SS/Cobalt SS was good for 15-20whp, and the factory piece on the Regal is waaay more restrictive.

Let me know when that is going down..... after hearing some more exhaust clips I've decided xpipe with busanni axleback(no mufflers)... I would just get the exhaust shop to hack off my stock mufflers but everyone says with the angle they lay its hard for an exhaust shop to get your tips placed back right... the busanni mufflerless system is only $350 and the xpipe is only $75 so ill still have less than $500 in it
If Joel doesn't planning on doing it till next year, you should go ahead and find us a dyno to have a meet at some time this fall.
Nothing says we can't have a dyno meet this Fall and Spring of next year, if we have to.
Hey guys im coming down to bama to install a tvs on a hhr and tune it. If i have enough time id like to meet some fellow members so i can put faces to names...... I dunno what city yet i will find that out tomorrow.........
