You never know when someone is going to come out with an upgrade to the stock turbocharger, besides the wheel upgrade. This will make the value of them go way up and I can send it out for the upgrade if need be

I still have my factory HHR SS wheels and tires in storage with 1500 original miles on them.

Well, my insurance might go up here soon... hopefully not. After I got GMS1 installed, I took my dad for a ride. When we got back to the house, the first thing he said, "I bet you get a speeding ticket within a week" Thanks dad! *rolleyes*

^ funny story... I helped my friend install underdrive pulleys and a CAI on a '07 GT Mustang one time, he also had some sort of hand held tuner for it.... so, it was a good bit faster after all was said and done...

I told him "you better be careful, most of the time when people put new mods on their car they have a wreck or get a ticket within a week of doing so"

a few minutes later we went for a test drive... ended up on this little dead end road and he had to back into a driveway.... ended up backing into a phone pole, lol.... it didn't hurt the car too bad(he ended up getting the dent pulled out of the bumper, paint was fine, he wasn't going very fast)... there was the wreck

than night I was at work and he texted me saying "I just got a ******* speeding ticket"... state trooper nailed him on the highway... same day, both things came true, lol

as far as my car and the tune... with my dad, I didn't take him for a ride until I got the charge piping on... and he had rode in it stock and I told him to come check out the difference that piping made... he couldn't believe the difference, but I then told him it was running much more boost, lol

my dad has always been cool with mods on cars... when I was 17, he helped me hang headers on my Z/28... even found me a better price on a set of drag radials, lol

THANKS dad!

and my dad has always said:

"if you're going to race, do it on the street, if you wreck on a drag strip, insurance won't pay for it"

awesome motto

Yea, the more I think about it, the more I want to change the cheap plastic piping that GM did If I do that, is a re-tune needed? /n00b question

NO tune needed. Only replace the hot side intercooler piping, the factory cold side piping is fine.
I run Dejon's 3pc hot side intercooler piping wiith upgraded t-bolt clamps.

I run Injen's hotside... you can get it for like $200/shipped, I HIGHLY recommend longer silicon couplers and t-bolts... i discarded the stock clamps and worm clamps... well, i didn't replace the couplers until one blew off the intercooler, that was evidence enough for me...

***Edit***

finally got to run my 1st Cobalt SS this morning, a silver one that i've been seeing for WELL OVER a year but never had an opportunity to get beside... and older guy drives it(in his 30s) and I got beside him on the highway... kind of got beside him and jumped at him, but he didn't bite... So I just continued on my way... then I saw him start creeping up... we did a pull from about 65... we did a quick little pull but instantly put a lot on him, I backed out fairly quickly(too many troopers on that road) but it was a thrashing...

I turned off up ahead, beeped at him and gave him the thumbs up... maybe he saw my decal in the window and will post up, if you go to the 1st page of this topic and scroll down to the guy named Callen_29(who is from Florence, where that car came from), I bet that is the same car... may even be that guy...

***and another edit***

so I go 2 years without racing a LSJ and now in a week i've raced 2, I ran a Ion Redline with Texas plates in almost the same spot I race the LSJ Cobalt earlier in the week, a chick was driving it(hot as **** as well)... I offered to give driving lessons afterwards...... a no go, lol

^ Lucky you! I bent my front rim and scuffed up my rear rim the day after I bought my car. Had to replace the front rim... $600. Still trying to find another SS/TC rim for the rear.

I have the race of a lifetime lined up:

'01 GT convertible mustang with the Autotragic a CAI and a "racing chip"... here is the funny thing, in describing his car this guy says "I just can't hang with the newer 3-valve GTs, they will walk me"......which I find funny, because i'm walking them, lol

but anyway everyone at my work is telling this guy I'm going to beat him by buslengths but he isn't buying into it(one of our co workers has a convertible C5 vette and i've beat him in it, so he is pretty much telling Jordan its going to be bad)... of course they did tell him that I don't have "much" done to my car, and I really dont... what is 3 bolt-ons and a tune?

and for the first time in my life, someone described my car as "it must be heavy"... apparently that word COMPACT went over his head, lol

we all were adding it up tonight, I got about 400lbs on him, about 50whp and probably around 75-ft.-lbs, and he doesn't want a run from a dig, so he is going to be at even more of a disadvantage, lol... I told him to go from a dig but his defense: "You race all the time, you'll beat me off the start too much and I won't be able to "run you down""

he's a cool enough guy he just doesn't know jack about cars
