speaking of Iphone, Verizon is finally getting it Feb. 10th... but i'm going to hold off on getting it until June, when the Iphone 5 and Droid Bionic hit... the Bionic will have a dual core processor and is going to be fast as ****... I want to see what Apple brings with the 5, I see no reason to get the 4 over the Droid right now...
right now i'm thinking about getting the Bionic, unless the Iphone 5 is a huge step up

Lnf guys.... The car is making a noise. It's like a wonp wonp wonp noise. Not sure what it is but it's at idle sitting still. When moving sometimes and sometimes under acceleration. No lights or codes. Maybe the turbo?
Josh, these cars make all kind of weird noises in cold weather....
if it runs fine and still boosts, I wouldn't fret... how many miles on the car? could be the o2 sensor off the turbo
its causes a pretty bad effect at idle when it goes bad, mine had a rough idle which gradually got worse until it sounded like a damn boxer I4 from Subaru, lol

the turbo makes weird ass noises in cold weather... and someone at your work is a moron, lol... the term they were looking for is SURGING... and it DOES sound like the turbo is surging on cold starts, mine has done it since it was stock, with the stock air filter and air box is still does it, you'll notice it if you have your hood popped and are standing next to it on a cold start, but the stock setup mask it pretty well... with a drop in filter, a CAI, or any mods to the airbox elbow, its gets louder... its loud as **** in the morning with the Hahn CAI
yeah and its loud as ****... lol
ZZP gained 8whp with just it on their car... in fact, they still run a modified elbow setup on their car, not a full CAI like i have.... combined with a K&N drop-in and the snorkel mod, they gained about 15whp

ok so i'm thinking about starting a Project car this year... and I'm thinking about going the Monza route, I played around with photoshop today a little:

don't want bullet hole rims but i'll decide on that later
the powertrain route?
going to put a L67 out of a GTP grand prix into except turbo it...
I can get a used L67 with less than 75k on it for about a grand... and then in turn sell the stock heads, cam, and blower for probably a return of $500+
a good turbo kit will run me about $3k through ZZP, a turbo cam is $325, stage II heads can be had for $1100... with $5000 in it, it'd be a solid 430whp engine...
and as far as getting the power to the ground, I can bolt a 4l60e up to it, though i'll have to find one out of a '97+ V6 f-body... which sucks, my brother has one sitting in my dad's shop collecting dust, but its the 90 degree version used on the V8 f-bodies and the S10s/Sonomas.. I need the 60 degree version for this project... the good news, you can find one in a junk yard for $300... and I can get the guy who built my brother's transmission to build a 4l60e to hold about 800whp for about $900
I figure from start to finish, buying the car, restoring the interior and all I will have around $10,000 in it(plus probably another $3000 to paint it like I want)... but it'll be a 2500lb 430whp car that will have a rock solid drivetrain and haul serious ass
this year if I could just round up a car and start the engine, i'll be happy...
the Series II 3800 is as rock solid of an engine as there is on the road, the problem with the GTPs, was always the transmission, anything above 300whp and you were playing with fire... i'm totally going to avoid that problem while taking advantage of what the engine is
with the setup i'm planning, my friend david Moore went 11.60s is an almost full weight(minus spare tire, jack, and rear seats) GTP grand prix, which weighs 3500lbs... this car will be almost a 1000lbs lighter, and RWD on a much meatier tire
10s should be no problem, Pontiac Fiero's run 11s on lightly modded L67s
there is a certain group in Huntsville that seems to talk **** about anything not a V8... and I'd love to have something like this running 6s through the 1/8th(all they have in Huntsville) hurting their pride... and not coming in on a damn trailer to boot
and i'm very familiar with the 3800s, so its a project i'm not scared to tackle, that is a very simple engine to work on... welding is another one of my favorite past times, so i'm not afraid of having to make **** to get it to fit right, lol

I never was big on the Fiero's styling... and as much as I like the 240Sx's styling, i'd never own a Nissan... with this, I can get a GM hatchback and still have GM power, while having a very fast car that you don't see every day

there is a supercharged L67 Fiero that guy has a XP Cam, ported stock heads, running a 3.0" pulley... that is MAYBE a 350whp car... give it another 100whp and the fact both the Fiero and Monza hit the scales at 2600lbs(mine will be lighter when I get done with it, lol) and that will be a fun as ****...
plus as stated previously, with a shortened rear axle you can get a MUCH wider rear tire under the Monza

(the best footage is at 23 seconds and only because I was the one filming, lol)
there is my friends old turbo GTP... he ended up running 11.6s in it before demodding it and selling it, it went high 11s with a TERRIBLE boost leak, he gained well over 40whp getting it fixed, lol... the 379 dyno was on 15psi with the boost leak... after fixing it and on 18 psi, the car put down close to 440whp... he also ran 11.6s with 3500lbs...
so in short, if anyone runs across a hatchback monza, let me know...
i'm already joining some forums trying to locate a car... I can find them already converted to drag car easily and that is a last resort as i'll spend time converting it BACK to a street car...
i'm stoked about this and have all my friends(even my brother who is a hardcore V8 guy) on board with it... my dad is even interested in seeing this get set into motion
it may be fast as ****, but its going to sound like ****... my old GTP, lol:

and did I ever show you guys what the blower sounded like after some mods? my friends said it sounded like a raped ape, lol:
