Shouldn't have any problems with CEL's, and hopefully no problems will come up. However, go to auto zone or where ever and buy a can of PB Blaster. We'll use that to make sure no bolts break when we take off the stock manifold.

no you reuse the gasket thats on the stock mani. its a metal one so dont bend it. o and with the high flow cat you're gonna get a cell. been there and done it. lol either way the hardest part of the install is gettin the stock mani outta the hole. if by some chance i cant make it over to help with it, take the heat shield off the stock mani before you even try to take the mani off.... that'll be the only way you get it outta the hole and it will have to come out of the top. use plenty of spray lube of your choice on the o2 sensors and let them soak for bout 15-20 minute and they'll come right out unless you or rusty has the socket thats made for them, if you do then dont even worry bout the lube.

adam no cheek action needed, you can use my shop. but i am only off on weekends. i would be more than happy to help you with it here if you can wait till next saturday. im sure that will make trey happy to so he can get his hands dirty. and i would like to photo document it kinda like i did anthony's port and polish.

i think i wanna do this... i know i said i never would but if i can find the right paint i think i would like it. the paint would have to be either flat or satin, and rough, not smooth.

TREY PLEASE LOOK!

Already looked at that thread. If you'd notice, I've already talked to stu about it... Very nice paint job he did.

Adam... I'll be able to help you out during the week if I'm able to get to you. If not, then we'll have to wait til the weekend.

Adam, if you get your header in Monday or Tuesday you're more than welcome to come up to my house and we'll get it on there for you. It's a pretty good little ride up here but if you can look past that then we'll get it installed. I probably won't be doing much anyways. I'm broke until next week so I'll just be sitting at home doing nothing... Also, instead of you giving me money, how about you give me your exhaust manifold and stock down pipe. I wanna hone them out pretty good and install it on my car. Then when I take my old one off I'll give it to you in case you need one for something... Deal? I may wanna try to buy your stock cat-back as well. Let me know something dude.

Oh and I found a how-to on another cobalt forum. It's called How-To install a by-pass switch on your electric fans! I did it on my car today and now I can turn the fans off and on whenever I want. It'll be especially helpful when I'm trying to cool my intake temps down in between races.

Man it's tempting but i'd rather jus wait till Saturday and use it like a little mini meet lol. It may sound kinda homo, but i'd rather everyone there. Plus it'll give us something to do this weekend hahaha

And Trey, you sure can have my stocker. Especially if you're gonna be doing all the work lol.

Trey
Anthony
Kevin
Dan?
Aaron?
If Rusty is ok with it, i would hope all will be in attendance

never dull??? no no no.. you sand it to get it smooth then you go back with like 4000 grit sand paper and get all the deep scratches out you then have to have two polishin wheels and two different kinda polishin compounds and i dont mean mothers or never dull. its more of a pasty bar type stuff. thats what gets it to a mirror or close to mirror finish. all in all it will take several hours to polish one.

anthony i say you paint yours black with red stripes and not red with black stripes. just my opinion thou.

lol now if you could find a painter that knows how to use that paint then it woud look just like you had it chromed. lol justa bit to much bling under the hood for me thou.

o and i tried to talk trey into doin his like the way stu did it but he went for the all black look. looks good like that but i just like the idea of the black with polished ribs.

I'm still gonna do it like stu when I take my blower and valve cover off to repaint them...

I don't think I'd have to use a grit as fine as 4000 to put a shine on our blower. It's a very soft metal, so I think I could get away with 1000 grit as a good base for a mirror finish. It wouldn't be hard if you wanted to try it Adam. Just time consuming. Your call man. I do like the way stu's looks tho... The whole un-sanded look.

On the other hand... I finer grit than 1000 would be needed on the valve cover... Probably up to 2000 grit, if not more.
